Business Intelligence Analyst, Hop

Job Description

We launched Deliveroo HOP in September 2021 as our ultra-fast, quick-commerce grocery delivery service. Our mission is to deliver groceries and an expanding range of non-food goods to customers around the world in as little as minutes; from the weekly shop to a last minute dinner party or a late night snack. Working with trusted grocers, Deliveroo HOP brings customers the very best products at lightning speed.

We are building a network of stores across London, the UK and are live in 5 markets worldwide. Partnered with a variety of retail partners, each of our stores is staffed with a team who have been trained to manage the operations and pick and pack orders in record time, with Deliveroo's rider network completing all deliveries.

We are also expanding our Hop business model, including our Hop As A Service model and small partner relationships.

What you will do:

You will report to the Head of Planning and Analytics, HOP. You will develop the data structures and tables used by the wider Hop team.

Your primary responsibility is to provide clean, tested, well-documented and well-modelled data sets and analytical tools to empower the wider Hop business to make informed decisions with a focus on improving our overall operational efficiency (e.g. reducing labour costs, tracking customer satisfaction metrics, reducing waste).

Your success will require development of working relationships across Deliveroo; the link with the data science, analytics engineering, and the wider Hop business operations teams.

This role is based in our London (HQ) Offices.

Responsibilities

• Build SQL data transformation scripts to achieve denormalised and aggregated output datasets that can be used by the wider business in making decisions
• Build reporting and analytics tools, visualisations, and dashboards to allow teams to self-serve metrics daily
• Conduct analysis on the Deliveroo Hop operations to optimise operational processes
• Collaborate with other teams (analytics engineering, data science and other users) on data-driven projects to improve internal tools, systems, and data pipelines

Requirements

• Experience in a similar role, with basic knowledge on data warehousing, data modelling concepts, and structuring new tables
• Proficient in SQL and Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), familiarity using BI software (e.g., Tableau, Looker), familiarity with a scripting language (e.g., Python, R) helpful, but not necessary
• Ability to explain complex findings to non-technical audiences in a clear, simple way, both written and verbally.
• Hands-on mentality and willing to work with an entrepreneurial approach to getting work done.
• Fun and great at working collaboratively in a high-performance team environment.
• French knowledge would be good to have
