Job Description

Eaton's Vehicle Division is hiring a Global Product Strategy Manager for our Medium and Heavy-Duty Transmission product lines! This role will be based out of one of our three Michigan locations (Galesburg, MI, Marshall, MI, or Southfield, MI). Up to 50% travel will be required.

This role is responsible for developing and executing the Medium and Heavy-Duty Transmissions product line's global strategic direction, as well as connecting market and customer needs with Eaton's global manufacturing strategy. They will work with regional teams to develop winning commercial strategies with customers, pursue and execute partnership opportunities with customers or other industry stakeholders to create differentiated value solutions, and drive opportunity pipeline developments and execution of wins pursuits with the sales organization.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Marketing, Business or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Analytical: Must be able to leverage PowerPoint, Excel and database tools to develop comprehensive presentations and analysis.
  • Experience in financial analysis especially in the areas of sales growth, profitability, and cost analysis.
  • Ability to anticipate emerging trends and issues that have the potential to impact revenue and profits
  • Business case knowledge of metrics that affect program profitability
  • Demonstrated experience in developing recommendations based on the aggregation of numerous variables and market conditions.
  • Project management skills: Ability to lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of projects according to established processes; serve as a consultant for internal and external customers.

Preferred/Additional Specialized Knowledge (not required to be qualified for position):

  • MBA or equivalent from an accredited institution preferred
  • Global experience in working on projects / teams that cross geographic boundaries
  • Ability to foresee market trends and propose solutions with confidence
  • Knowledge of commercial powertrain system, driveline components and performance objectives
  • Experience in product planning, product management, vehicle applications, engineering or sales
  • Market knowledge of the Commercial Vehicle industry
  • Technical knowledge of transmission product portfolios
  • Knowledge of regional OEMs and their products
  • Competitor product knowledge
  • Demonstrated experience leading & supporting regional business initiatives
  • Proven ability to concisely communicate market trends and the impact to business. Ability to deliver differing perspectives by providing logical interpretation of multiple perspectives and scenarios.
  • Ability to develop forecasts with open view of leading market drivers and indicators.
  • Experience in driving aligned actions through groups that don’t directly report to them.

Position Criteria

  • Travel: Up to 50%. Frequent international travel will be expected for this position.
  • The Global Product Strategy Manager must work collaboratively with other Eaton team members to create a greater value for the customers. This individual must also be a self-starter, and aggressively partner with the global regions to define, influence, and drive product improvements in the product line. The incumbent must build positive relationships at all organizational levels internally and externally to communicate, motivate and influence change.
