Job Description
What is the opportunity?
As Bilingual Copywriter & Proofreader, you’ll play an integral role in helping Investment Advisors tell their unique stories to connect with future clients, as well as telling the RBC Wealth Management Canada story to the Quebec market. As lead copywriter for French-speaking advisors, you will write compelling copy for web, email, social, and print, working within an agile team of creative marketers. In addition, as the main point person for corporate marketing content, you will liaise with our external vendor to procure high-quality translations, proofread translations, and adapt them to a Quebec audience.

What will you do?
- Write and conceptualize clear French marketing copy for web, email, social, and traditional print (and the occasional video) to highlight the personal brand and explain the services of some of the leading advisors in Canada
- Collaborate with a talented group of creative marketing colleagues (in particular, a designer and account manager) to prepare, present, and bring to life digital branding recommendations
- Be first point of contact for French Wealth Management Canada content questions, inquiries, and suggestions, including providing recommendations and attending internal briefings
- Build relationships with French-speaking advisors/counsellor teams as well as branch and business heads to understand market-specific content appetite and unique requirements
- Manage translation activity with Versacom, RBC’s approved translation agency, including proofreading/editing their French-language output and managing internal feedback
- Write original French-only corporate communications on an as-needed basis
- Keep up to date with the latest digital marketing and writing trends, techniques, and technologies
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- 4+ years of experience writing French marketing copy in various brand voices/tones and in accordance with SEO principles
- 2+ years of experience working in a marketing, branding, or advertising role in a corporate environment or related agency
- A flair and passion for words, and an ability to sell through your work to various stakeholders, developing a collaborative relationship with a focus on service excellence
- Ability to organize work and establish priorities independently to meet deadlines
- Fluency with spoken English communication for seamless collaboration with English-speaking teammates
Nice-to-have
- Post-Secondary education in: French studies, Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Experience working as part of a traditional creative team/pod (designer, copywriter, and account manager)
- Professional experience as an editor or proofreader, especially of content translated from English to French
- Full fluency in both English and French (i.e. reading, writing, conversation)
