Job Description

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Establishes human factor design thinking and design tools a as key strategic capability and competitive advantage.
• Responsible for the design of novel drug delivery devices, drug / device combinations, functional packaging, functional applicators within Abbott EPD I&D.
• Ability to create novel design concept and prototypes based on human user feedback.
• Ability to utilise a wide range of materials and can adopt materials for specific applications.
• Statistically analyzes user research data and translates this to an understanding of the design acceptance, preference or attitudes and how this drives emotional connections.
• Work cross-functionally to define project objectives, determine appropriate design and consumer research methodologies, creates research plans, prototypes and tests.
• Ability to use material know-how to establish working prototypes for evaluation.
• Uses sensorial know-how to direct product and project development.
• Responsible for the set up and operation of equipment within the design centre.
• Participates in the global innovation process to help generate new product & claims with tangible benefits based on consumer insights, patients & HCP needs.
• Helps drives and stipulates IP and device design registration within EPD together with IP department.
• Ensures clear communication within project teams, therapeutic area teams and departmental functions
