Credit Portfolio Analyst I

Job Description

The Credit Portfolio Analyst is an entry-level position responsible for participating in a variety of portfolio monitoring activities to identify credit migration in coordination with the Risk Management team. The overall objective of this role is to assist in managing Citi's portfolio exposure to clients and counterparties globally.
Responsibilities:

• The candidate will be part of the Financial Institutions (FI) team, take the lead on the data management of the global hedge fund portfolio. This will include liaising with various parties to procure fund Net Asset Values (NAVs) and regular performance and disclosure information and ensure that these are properly maintained in the internal systems.
• Coordinate with other departments and various levels of management regarding credit risk reporting issues, including investigating data issues and resolving reporting errors.
• Proactively monitor compliance with trading documentation.
• Ensure that assigned daily reports such as the large / missed margin calls are prepared on time and escalations, if any, are properly managed
• Provide support by teaming up with credit officers on annual credit reviews, workflows and audits.
• Manage ad hoc projects that may be assigned by the leads in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and that other deliverables are met.

Qualifications:

• Gain knowledge of fund industry and risk management practices.
• Develop understanding of financial market instruments and their inherent risks.
• Gain knowledge of all capital market products.
• Opportunity to expand responsibilities with time, and assist the FI team in other portfolio reports

Education:

• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• A passionate interest in finance
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Motivated and confident; able to effectively collaborate with colleagues of various seniority
• High attention to details, while being able to work under pressure and deliver timely and accurate results.
• Knowledge of the hedge fund industry will be an advantage.
