Position Responsibilities

We are looking for a Junior Business Intelligence Analyst in Government Services to bring the fast-growing, ever-evolving power of data science to aviation and aerospace. As a Boeing BI analyst, you will be on the front end of the science, guiding the end-user analytics experience, delivering insights, and developing interactive visualizations. You will get to work closely with our customers, building their trust, studying their problems and business needs. You will blend artistry with science to visualize and explain your findings and stories. We want you to help us bridge the gap between the analytics and their business application.

In particular, the BI Analyst (Government Services) will be responsible for the development/upkeep of interactive visualizations and intelligence tools for a portfolio of analytics and optimization projects involving government platforms and maintenance systems. They will also be responsible for answering ad hoc business intelligence questions ranging in complexity, identifying appropriate analyses and communication tools, and coordinating needed support from data scientists and data engineers where appropriate. This role requires the approved and proper handling and organization of export-controlled (ITAR) data.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• 2+ years relevant work experience (business intelligence, analytics)
• Must have at least one year of experience in a modern, high-level coding language (e.g. Python, Java, Scala, Javascript, C#, R)
• Must have at least one year of experience delivering interactive analytics visualizations in a commercial application (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI) or custom-made programmatic interfaces (e.g., flask, d3.js)
• Must be eligible to work in Canada
• Must be willing and eligible to work on government and defense-related programmes
• Must be eligible to handle ITAR and other export-controlled data

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Previous experience handling ITAR data is preferred
• Previous experience and familiarity with RCAF and/or USAF maintenance information systems is preferred
• Experience in formal collaborative development environment and version control (e.g., Gitlab)
• Confident communication skills
• Critical-thinking skills (formal training in Kepner-Tregoe, Root-Cause Analysis, or similar)
• Project management knowledge (PMBOK, Agile, Kanban) is an asset
• Domain knowledge in the aviation & aerospace industry is an asset
