Job Description
Key Skills & Competencies
Essential:
- Knowledge of Software Testing concepts (such as STLC, SDLC, Testing Methodologies etc.)
- Basic knowledge of Investment Banking business
- Programming capabilities like Java, VBA etc. required for Test suite Automation
- Profound understanding of trade lifecycle and financial Instruments
- Knowledge of any Test Management tools (HP ALM)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Basic knowledge of SQL Developer and Macros
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Strong analytical skills, detail oriented and service commitment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meets strict deadlines
- Should be enthusiastic & proactive to learn new things
- Flexible to work in shifts
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Middle Office, Fund Accounting, Pricing, Transfer Agency, Collateral & Reconciliation functions will be an added advantage
- ISTQB or equivalent certification
- Experience in different types of testing like functional, regression, black box etc.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for writing, reviewing and executing Test Cases and raising Defects
- Perform functional test analysis, planning, design, execution and reporting for testing assignments
- Enhance test frameworks and develop & run automated tests using UFT, Selenium etc.
- Apply, design and develop automated testing strategies and build automated testing frameworks.
- For the specific testing project, support the Project Test Manager(s) and Functional Test Manager by contributing to the Test Plan(s) for the relevant test phases, the Test Readiness Reviews, test progress reporting, the Completion/Summary Reports and Defect Reports
- Prepare Test planning documents where required: Test Cases, Test Scripts, Test Data, Test Coverage analysis, automated test suites for a given testing assignment
- Work closely with the stakeholders or other groups in preparation and execution of the planned functional testing
- Plays key role in the analysis and reporting of test results, working closely with business, technology and support areas to investigate and interpret test findings
- As a member of the Test Work stream, participate in peer’s work review for Test Scenarios and Test Scripts as well as contributing to the on-going development of test strategy and entry control policy within the Testing Programme
- Review the requirement document and understand the scope of testing and provide inputs to Test lead for preparation of test plan based on realistic targets
- Report testing progress and be accountable for the tasks and releases
- Ensure accurate and timely execution of the assigned tasks
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Commerce
- 2 - 4 years of experience in testing lifecycle in Investment Banking domain
- Minimum 2 years of hands on experience in Securities and Fund Services domain
