What you’ll be doing...

The Senior Sales Consultant has deep skills and knowledge with business intelligence, complex data sources, data visualization and ETL. The role is the key technical point of contact for deals within an assigned geographic territory and market segment, and is a critical escalation point for complex or difficult sales situations. The Senior Sales Consultant participates in and may drive all aspects of a Sales cycle. In addition, this role provide general oversight and technical qualification to their Sales team(s) to ensure standards and quality of BI solutions. In addition to these technical, leadership and sales capabilities, individuals in this role must be a self‐starter comfortable with researching relevant tools, technologies and methodologies to support and enhance the Tableau sales experience. The Senior Sales Consultant drives the engagement of the presales organization’s contribution towards delighting customers, innovating use cases and ultimately converting every prospect into a highly satisfied customer.

Some of the things you’ll be doing include ...

• Negotiate with Sales and client to ensure the right data and process requirements are selected to deliver the most useful and compelling product demonstrations
• Provide strategic presales support for sales activities including assessing client needs, setting presales strategies, developing supporting architectures, and actively engaging and negotiating with sales and the customer throughout the process
• Be an expert in the features, benefits and application of Tableau’s products as well relevant supporting technologies (e.g. ETL, Data Warehousing, etc.)
• Drive all aspects of successfully delivering client proof points including: demonstrations, guided evaluations and Proof of Concepts from requirements through design and delivery
• Demonstrate expert level communications both in‐person and virtually across all selling motions
• Interact continuously with sales team members as required to ensure the team is executing smoothly and in lock step
• Ensure sales team members are aware of Tableau capabilities as well as supporting/partner products required to address specific customer requirements
• Engage customers and prospects proactively to ensure their continuing level of delight
• Be a key customer advocate and liaison for product management and development
• Support key strategic deals with complex technical requirements or unique sales needs

Who you are...

• Experienced. 5+ years experience in a Sales Engineer/ Sales Consulting role. 3+ years experience with business intelligence
• Domain. Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Data Integrator, Data Transformation Services, etc.). Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or a related field
• Excellent Communication. Expert communications skills across all mediums. Expert presentation skills to both business and technical audiences.
• Problem Solver. Ability to solve problems with significant degrees of difficulty. Ability to translate knowledge across diverse industries and situations
• Highly Technical . Experience with SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Analysis Services, Essbase, Netezza, etc.) and/or MDX. Deep Tableau technical skill and/or ability to acquire in‐depth knowledge and use of Tableau products
