Software Engineer - Test Platform Development

Job Description

Zoox has embarked on a highly ambitious journey to develop a full-stack autonomous mobility solution for our cities. Before a Zoox robot drives on a real road, we have to test its functionality and behavior. This is where the Test Platform development team comes in. We work to design and develop high-fidelity testing platforms to validate software systems running on our AI Compute Stack.

In this role, you will:

• Architect and develop test platforms for system integration testing, with a focus on developing reliable, high-performance tools that provide sensor data to the robot
• Contribute to the development of our on-robot software infrastructure
• Contribute to the design and development of our integration testing framework
• Guide client teams in building tests and tools on top of our test platforms

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science and 5+ years of experience
• Experience programming in Python and C++ in large code bases
• Experience designing software and tooling
• Strong track record of working cross-functionally in a multidisciplinary engineering team
• A firm understanding of the software life cycle and common software design principles

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with robot middleware (ex: ROS)
• Experience developing test platforms, including debugging system integration issues
• Expert-level knowledge of Linux

Compensation There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $155,000 to $220,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
